Black & Decker LDX120C Review

This cordless drill is perfect for small tasks.

It is a good choice if you’re a homeowner. We found this drill comfortable to hold. It is not the best for tight or hard to access spaces because of its heavy weight. It does however hold drill bits securely and it is easy to change drill bits while working.

Professional contractors or people needing to drill through more than just wood, should choose a better drill. You can read our best cordless drill reviews here.

Drill Info:

Battery Type Lithium Ion
Torque 115 in-lbs
Power Source Cordless
Chuck Size 3/8 inch

It will not go through concrete, this is a drill that is more on the budget side. If you want to drill through concrete or drill through brick then we recommend getting a good hammer drill instead.

That doesn’t make it bad, but just not powerful enough for other than DIY uses. Overall, it’s a decent budget homeowner drill. We give it 4 stars, because it offers excellent value to homeowners. This drill was our top rated pick for best cordless drill for homeowners.

Impact Wrench

Milwaukee 2767-20 Impact Wrench Review

Below you will find our review on the Milwaukee 2767-20 Impact Wrench.

Milwaukee 2767-20 High Torque ½” Impact Wrench Review

Put away the air compressed tools and switch to the this powerful Battery Powered Impact Wrench from Milwaukee. This cordless impact wrench delivers 1000 ft-lbs of fastening torque and just over 1400 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque.

  • Compact – measures only 8.39″ in length
  • 4 Mode Drive Control – Gives more control over fastening speed and torque
  • Anti Corrosion Casing – Case prevents damage from chemical corrosion

  • Weight – heavy compared to other impact wrenches

In our opinion, this is a very good impact wrench. It gives enough power and is priced at an unbeatable value. The only disadvantage we could find was its weight, other than that, this cordless brushless Milwaukee impact driver, outperforms on pretty much every other aspect. We give it 5 stars. [table id=12 /]

We will go into more information on finding the best cordless screwdriver below. Here is a list of best cordless screwdriver, so you can decide which one is right for you.

TACKLIFE SDH13DC Cordless Screwdriver

This was an easy pick for best cordless screwdriver. It has everything one would ever need out of a cordless screwdriver at a decent price.

The adjustable 3 position handle gives excellent autonomy for any screwdriving task. You’re not limited to a single angle which really comes in handy for tight spaces or screwing in different angles.

It has the brightest LED light of all of the cordless screwdrivers we compared it against. So you will have enough light when you’re working in dark spaces.

The TACKLIFE SDH13DC has six different torque clutch settings. In other words, you can increase and decrease the amount of torque applied. This is handy for preventing the stripping of screws and helps for driving smaller screws.

It uses a lithium-ion battery source, which is the best for cordless screwdrivers. Li-Ion batteries hold their charge for longer and need less maintenance when compared to its Ni-Cad counterparts.

This cordless screwdriver delivers 200rpm and 4Nm of torque, which is enough to handle any task you’ll encounter around the house. Plus, it comes with 31 – yes, thirty-one different driver bits so you can handle any small drilling task.

DeWALT DCF682N1 Cordless Screwdriver Inline Gyroscopic Screwdriver

This DeWalt cordless screwdriver took a bit of time to get used to. Instead of a forward and reverse button, this cordless screwdriver uses a gyroscopic control. In other words, the forward and reverse action is based on the direction you turn your wrist. I feel like you’ll either hate this thing or love it.

It does have plenty of power, that’s for sure, makes it easy to remove tiny screws. This battery operated screwdriver delivers just the right amount of torque and it’s a very versatile little tool for jobs around the house. Works by twisting in the direction you want to drill in. It’s a well built & powerful tool, but it does take some time to get used to.

It’s a battery operated screwdriver, and you just turn your wrist, and it works. It is perfect for people who do not like to twist manually, which is suitable for people with arthritis and other issues. Just turn it once in the direction you want, and it will do the rest. It’s got a very nice shape, you cant adjust it into different grips like the other cordless screwdrivers, but it does get into nice tight hard to reach corners. It’s very light, and the 8-volt power battery is fantastic, it’ll last a full day of work if not more.

The gyroscopic feature is really unique among all the power screwdrivers. In terms of power, it’s great, but obviously its a screwdriver so don’t expect to get any heavy duty work done with this. So it’s not going to give an insane amount of torque, but it’ll become your go-to screwdriver for medium to small DIY tasks around the house.

BLACK and DECKER Li2000 Lithium 3 Position Rechargeable Screwdriver

Like the TACKLIFE, this Black and Decker screwdriver has the ability to pivot and lock in three different positions.

Remember this isn’t a cordless drill, it’s a cordless screwdriver. It’s small but delivers enough power to tackle any light or medium sized DIY tasks.

The Li2000 3 Position Rechargeable Screwdriver gives 40 in-lb of torque and spins at 180 rpm. The grip is comfortable, also it’s pretty basic and easy to use.

It is (at the time of writing this) cheaper than the Tacklife, but this cordless rechargeable screwdriver is missing some basic features. For example, there is no LED battery light indicator, there is also no LED light, which makes it a pain to use in dark places, and lastly its less powerful than the tacklife version.

If you’re looking for the best budget cordless screwdriver, then the Li2000 will be the best pick for you.

NoCry Cordless Electric Screwdriver

Was somewhat skeptical on this one, it’s not your everyday brand of power tools, but it ended up being pretty good.

Super easy to use. Saved quite a bit of time with some small projects I had to do around the house. This cordless electric screwdriver has an excellent ergonomic grip, feels good in your hands.

Also comes with a convenient set of bits and a magnetic holder for your drill bits.

It’s a bit heavier than I thought it would be, but it’s powerful and holds its charge for a long time. The torque is also adjustable. It’s a good nice easy to use battery operated cordless screwdriver.

Feels good with the soft grip and it’s got a really nice feel to it. Overall power is decent, and the torque is good enough to get things done around the house.

Overall, it’s cheap and durable. This is something that just works.

Black & Decker BDCS50C Cordless Screwdriver

This Black & Decker cordless screwdriver spins at 180 rpms. It’s great for smaller DIY tasks, and it has a really quiet operation. The LED light is powerful which makes it good for working in locations with low visibility. It weights only 1.4 lbs and the design quality just feels good.

In terms of power, you really won’t get a lot of performance compared to the other cordless screwdrivers we reviewed. But it’s a cordless screwdriver, not a cordless drill, so don’t expect too much out of it. We tested this for about an hour, and the battery lasted for at least that long. Reports range from lasting 1 day of heavy use and 3-4 months of light infrequent usage.

Overall, the cordless and compact design makes it portable and easy to use to hard to reach spots. For a cordless screwdriver, it’s strong but not the strongest. Probably great for just home usage. It’ll give enough power for small to medium sized home or DIY tasks.

TECCPO TDSC01P Cordless Screwdriver

This cordless power screwdriver, made by TECCPO, is one of the most powerful cordless compact screwdrivers available. It has a max torque of 6Nm, making it one of the most powerful power screwdrivers in the market.

We found it was pretty similar to the TACKLIFE, but there are some significant differences.

First, it is only a 2 position handle. It can be either a pistol 90-degree grip or a straight angled grip. Overall, we find the 3-position handle better for overall versatility, so this is something we feel is lacking in the TECCPO.

One advantage, however, is that it comes with more accessories than the other cordless screwdrivers we reviewed. In terms of task autonomy, the full 45 piece drill bit set makes it attractive an attractive choice. If you need a variety of different bits, then you’ll find this to be the best choice.

Brushed or Brushless — Which is Better?

Confused about whether to get a brushed drill or a brushless drill? Don’t worry in this article we will discuss just that.

Brushless vs Brushed Drill

What is the difference between brushless and brushed motors?

There is one major difference between brushless and brushed motors: brushless is more efficient and uses less power. Brushed motors cost less and use more battery, whereas brushless motors cost more, last longer and use less battery.

What is the advantage of using a brushless drill?

The main advantages of Brushless Drills are that they last longer, require less maintenance, and use less battery. Amid all those benefits, you cannot overlook the major disadvantage: brushless drills cost more compared to brushed drills.

To summarize, brushless drills are better than brushed drills in terms of efficiency, maintenance, and battery usage. Brushed motors cost less than brushless motors. Our recommendation is to choose a brushless drill unless cost is a major factor. If you need a new cordless drill be sure to check out our top picks for the best cordless drill.

Hammer Drill

DeWALT DCD785C2 20V Max — Read This Review Before Purchasing

The DeWalt DCD785C2 20V Max is a power hammer drill that has surprising power for its price. We found this tool an excellent choice in terms of power only. This drill is only 20V 1.5 Ah, but it is surprisingly powerful for its and drilled through wood, concrete and even steel using the hammer drill mode.

Using the hammer drill mode on this cordless drill makes that battery run out very quickly. The two batteries supplied are not extraordinary either, but they do charge in only 30 minutes which makes switching between them pretty easy. There is also a lack of an LED light to indicate the charge level of the battery.

Although we have not experienced it ourselves, a lot of customers have reported a chuck wobble in this particular model. Overall, we found this drill is good for power but not much else. Pick the best hammer drill by reading our take on the latest hammer drills & hammer drill reviews.

Drill Info

[table id=9 /]

The Li-ion batteries supplied with the drill last a long time. Even with the LED light it provided us with an entire days’ worth of intensive work without a recharge.

Its LED lamp is located at its base and lights up well. It turns on at startup and goes off after 20 seconds. It also features an “LED Spotlight Mode” which shuts off after 20 minutes. This is great if you’re working in a dark space.

The DeWALT comfort grip gives this drill a nice feel and it is easy to control.

[table id=7 /]

We found this drill powerful, easy to use and comfortable. The DCD996B weighs only 4 pounds despite of its high capacity battery.

The 3-Mode LED light with time delay is handy for dark places. Its battery lasts a very long time, we managed to get a full day of work in with this drill. That is over 8 hours of intensive work and the charge is exhausted to only half. With normal usage conditions, it is well possible that the battery would last a week without recharging. The battery also recharges in less than an hour, so, you can count on the second supplied battery while the first recharges.

The DEWALT DCD996B has a three speed transmission for fast application speeds. Using a high quality drill bit in combination with this drill makes it pass through conrete and brick like it was butter.

WORX WORXSAW 4-1/2″ Compact Circular Saw – WX429L

This circular saw has a cord. If you’re okay with a corded model, then consider the WORXSAW. Unlike some other corded models (looking at you Skil) this one actually has a long cord, so no extension cord is needed.

The one-handed operation on this circular saw makes it easy to control. The depth of cuts are easy to adjust, and the marks are accurate too. The ergonomic design makes the hand position comfortable and easy to control. Excellent accuracy and good precision.

It’s roughly the same weight as the DeWalt which we featured in our article on the best circular saw. The feel of this is very high quality. The stock blade is easy to install and operate. It has a quiet operation too. Furthermore, the included stock blade is nice and sharp.

The depth adjustment mechanism makes it easy to make depth adjustments. Lines up with the mark on the shoe for accurate cuts. And the lock release is easy to reach as well. Easy to change blades. The rip fence is also easy to use, and it can be adjusted using the included wrench that is on the cord of this saw. The ergonomic grip handle makes it comfortable to hold and easy to control as well. The overall build quality just feels good.
